Description
The Necromancer is an exclusive spawner tower that can be unlocked in the store for 1,800 gems. It is only sold during every Halloween, though for the Lunar Overture Event, it was on sale until 2nd of December 2023. However, due to a bug, it is still purchasable. It could have also been obtained through a gamepass for 1,500.
The Necromancer fires magic bolts at enemies, which at Level 1 can pierce two enemies, hitting three enemies. At Level 4, these are replaced by beams fired from its book, which are not projectiles. The Necromancer also has a soul meter of 30, which it fills up by damaging enemies. When the soul meter is full, the Necromancer will summon gravestones. The Necromancer can destroy these gravestones using its Raise the Dead ability. The Necromancer will summon up to six gravestones, after which it will not summon any. At Level 3, the Necromancer now can upgrade gravestones. When it has reached the limit of six gravestones, after dealing enough damage it will upgrade them. Upgraded gravestones summon stronger units. At Level 4, these gravestones can also deal damage when destroyed.
The units spawned depend on the Level of the tower and the gravestone. At Level 0, Level 1 gravestones can only spawn Skeletons, at Level 2, Level 1 gravestones gain the ability to summon Sword Skeletons. At Level 3, gravestones can be upgraded to Level 2, where they spawn Skeletons, Skeleton Knights and Giant Skeletons. At Level 4, gravestones can be upgraded to Level 3, where they spawn Skeleton Knights, Hallow Guards and Executioner Skeletons. The units that spawn from gravestones are random.

Strategy
- Placement is important for the Necromancer, because of its projectile and the way it spawns gravestones.
- The Necromancer should be placed at the ends of a straight path or around corners to maximize its pierce.
- At Level 4, the Necromancer no longer fires projectiles and instead targets enemies using beams, making placement less important in this regard.
- The Necromancer needs to be placed next to the path so that it can summon gravestones, so you might not be able to utilize the most of its range.
- The Necromancer should be placed at the ends of a straight path or around corners to maximize its pierce.
- The Necromancer stops attacking while summoning gravestones, making it unable to attack for a while.
- This does not happen when the Necromancer upgrades gravestones.
- This makes it unable to defend by itself, as hordes of fast enemies like the Glitch or Shock could get out of its range fairly easily, especially at Level 0-3. Thus, bringing in reliable towers like the Minigunner will help avoid this issue.
- At Level 1, the Necromancer gains the ability to pierce enemies, allowing it to be used against crowds of enemies.
- Do be aware that the projectile can miss, meaning it cannot fill the soul meter.
- At Level 4, it fires beams instead of projectiles, making it significantly more effective against crowds of enemies.
- It is not recommended to use the Necromancer against major bosses due to its low single target DPS, and the fact that you have to move the Necromancers a lot for its units to actually be able to attack them.
- Additionally, most major bosses can damage the units with abilities, making them even more risky to use.
- The Necromancer's Raise the Dead ability can be used to summon various skeletons, which get quite powerful at later levels.
- It is recommended to wait until gravestones are at their higher level, so that it spawns strongest units.
- The units that spawn are random, meaning that the units that spawn may not be the ones that you need, which is especially common at Level 3 gravestones, which do not always spawn their strongest unit, the Executioner Skeleton.
- Do note that using its ability will kill any previously spawned units.
- At Level 4, the Level 3 gravestones explode when you activate the ability, which can make them useful as traps to take down groups of weaker enemies and chip the health down of stronger ones. You should only do this when enemies are about to walk on the gravestones or are walking on them currently, since you will still kill any previously spawned units.
- Units spawned by the Necromancer, especially at higher levels, have high health, making them useful against crowds of enemies.
- The Executioner Skeleton's axe also deals piercing damage, rapidly dealing damage to any unit caught by it, though its high firerate and the far distance that its axe travels make it quite inconsistent.
- The Necromancer has flying detection at Level 0, which can make it fairly useful against flying enemies.
- While it does not have hidden detection until Level 2, some of its units can detect and all of them can deal damage to them, making it still useful against hidden enemies before being upgraded to Level 2.
- You should not solely rely on the Necromancer for these two traits alone, however, as the Necromancer is a rather expensive way to counter these types of enemies and there are better and cheaper alternatives such as Ace Pilot, Militant or Golden Scout.
- That being said, the Necromancer's pierce and high damage at Level 2 makes it great against hordes of Hiddens and Balloons, though the Necromancer's slow firerate may struggle with them from time to time. At Level 4, it can do quite well against groups of Hidden Bosses along with supplementary damage with its ability.
- The Necromancer is, however, useless against Lead Balloons because it cannot damage lead enemies nor can any of the skeletons collide with them.
- The Necromancer is quite expensive to upgrade to Level 3 and 4. Because of this, towers like the Farm or Cowboy are recommended to afford them more easily.
- The DJ Booth can also be helpful at reducing its upgrade costs.
- The Necromancer's skeletons can be effective against Leads and Lead Bosses because they can damage them through collision and have a good amount of health to eliminate multiple of them.
- However, the Sword Skeleton, Skeleton Knight and Executioner Skeleton cannot damage them with their own attacks, so they may likely be destroyed quicker than usual.
Trivia
- The Necromancer is the first non-hardcore tower to be obtainable for Gems.
- It is also the cheapest tower to unlock with Gems.
- Unlike most other towers purchasable in the store, the Necromancer is only available every Halloween, though during the Lunar Overture Event, it was on sale until 2nd of December 2023.
- Due to a bug, it is present in the store much longer than intended.
- The Necromancer's beam attack at Level 4 shares a resemblance to the Plasma Trooper's beam attack from Tower Battles, as they both can attack more than one unit and use beams to target an enemy. There is a visual resemblance as well.
- This is the first tower to place something on the track.
- The former Necromancer Level 4 upgrade name is a reference to the Darkhold from the Marvel Comics.

Notes
- ↑ At Level 0, the projectile fired by the Necromancer can indirectly hit a hidden enemy. Additionally, the Skeletons it spawns can collide with hidden enemies.
- ↑ DPS assumes only one enemy is hit and does not include unit DPS.
- ↑ DPS does not include collision damage and assumes only one enemy is hit by an unit.
For the Executioner Skeleton, DPS is calculated as (Damage ÷ Tick) ÷ Firerate.
